2021: the one where everything starts to reopen. As the country returns to a more normal state, lawmakers have been busy with changes that will impact the background screening industry and our clients. Marijuana remains an important topic with additional states legalizing marijuana for medicinal and recreational use. States and local jurisdictions continue to pass laws that directly impact employers. As legislative and regulatory changes again affect background and drug screening, employers and others who request screening must be aware of changes that could drastically impact their processes.
In this compliance webinar, we will discuss the most recent updates in the treatment of marijuana usage, jurisdictions that have enacted laws on the use of criminal records and salary history, new privacy laws that now span the United States from coast-to-coast, and other topics affecting the employment screening industry. We will also reveal key areas to watch for the remainder of 2021 as well as important trends in employment screening to consider in maintaining compliant programs.
